Traditionally, noise sources require high DC supplies such as +15 or even +28V. In addition, the SMN3110 fea tures a built-in regulator to handle changes in the bias supply voltage without having an effect on the noise amplitude output. 3110-A2A SMN3110 SPECTRAL DATA SUITABLE FOR HIGH V OLUME PRODUCTS : The SMN3110 noise source being sur face mount, having a small footprint and available on tape and reel make them ideal for production manufacturing. Traditionally packaged microwave noise sources have been large and costly rendering them unsuitable for all but large expensive systems. The benefits of having built-in test and cali bration can now be brought to mass produced products so they too can realize the benefits of an onboard noise source.
